Fire and allied perils insurance

Fire insurance covers damage to buildings, contents and stock caused by fire, lightning and explosion, and can be extended to allied perils such as storm, flood, water damage and riot. It suits shops, warehouses, factories and leased properties in Qatar that want clear basic cover against named perils. At Al Bayan we request offers from several insurers licensed by Qatar Central Bank, explain which perils are and are not included, arrange the policy and follow up claims with the insurer.

In QatarHeavy rain is rare in Qatar but has flooded streets and buildings before, so consider adding storm and flood to your fire policy.

  • Offers from several licensed insurers, clearly explained
  • We help choose the allied perils your site needs
  • Cover for buildings, fit-out, contents and stock
  • We follow the claim with the insurer and adjuster

Frequently asked questions

How is fire insurance different from property all risks?

Fire insurance covers only the perils named in the policy. All risks covers any sudden physical damage unless excluded, so it is wider. We explain both options for your business.

Does a fire policy include rain and flood?

Not always. Storm, flood and water damage are allied perils added to the policy on request, so we make sure they are included if you need them.

What should I do after a fire?

Call emergency services on 999 first, then tell us as soon as possible. Photograph and keep the damaged items, and do not throw anything away before the insurer's surveyor inspects.

Does the policy cover stock whose value changes?

Yes, if its value is stated in the policy. Because stock levels change during the year, some policies let you declare the value periodically (policy dependent).
