Frequently asked questions
How do I set the sum insured for the building and contents?
Buildings are usually insured at rebuild cost, contents at replacement cost and stock at cost price. If you insure for less than the real value, the claim can be reduced in proportion, so we help you set realistic figures.
I rent my premises. Do I need property insurance?
The landlord usually insures the building, but your fit-out, contents and stock are your responsibility. Check the lease for what it asks of you, and we arrange cover for what you own.
What does business interruption cover?
It pays the drop in gross profit, including fixed costs that continue such as salaries and rent, and the extra cost of keeping the business running, during the indemnity period after an insured loss (policy dependent).
Can several locations go under one policy?
Usually yes, with the asset values for each location listed. We prepare the schedule of locations with you and send it to the insurers.
